Shopper's Paradise

After wearing your suit do not immediately hang it back into the closet. Instead, hang it in a well-ventilated area to allow for it to air out. Let the fibres breathe. Avoid wearing the same suit for two days consecutively.

Do not dry clean your clothes very often unless absolutely needed. Regular dry cleaning will eventually cause your garment to take on an artificial sheen.

If you do dry clean your clothes, ask your dry cleaner to clean your clothes without the use of starch and strong chemicals, and to press them by hand. This might be a bit more expensive, but it is worth it. This enhances the longevity of your garment.

Only steam press or use a low heat iron to remove any creases on your suit. As a handy tip for anyone travelling without access to an iron, you may hang your garment in steam (like in the bathroom), which will then eliminate the folds naturally.

Hang your clothes using wooden hangers. They do not bend and will continue to keep the garments hanging with a natural fall. Wire hangers bend over time with the weight of the suit, which damages the jacket and the trousers usually end up with a wire-like impression around the knee. It's preferable to hang the trousers vertically.

In the case of spills and stains on your suit, avoid rubbing the fabric as this further traps the particles into the fibres. Instead, blot the area with a dry cloth or an absorbent sheet such as tissue paper.

Before wearing your shirt, make sure that the cuffs are unbuttoned. Short cut methods of slipping arms into sleeves with the cuffs buttoned put a lot of stress on the threads causing the buttons to loosen and fall off.
